Pike press during the English Civil War Society battle at Marlborough, August 2014. Clearly not for the faint-hearted, but looks darned good fun if you have the stamina. Check with the organisers just how much strength is required; over-acting skills may possibly help supplement in some circumstances. If this is more strenuous than you want to contemplate, there are other roles of course; drummers, singers, musicians and cooks among them.
