Des Pawson describes and demonstrates sewing using a sailmaker's palm, a tool used by people working with sackcloth and canvas generally. He also shows the uses of a marlin spike and a fid. Tools useful for strong hands to work heavy materials are also useful for weaker hands when working lighter weight materials, and for other tasks too.
